Clean energy Principles
Argyll and Bute Council is inviting residents, communities, businesses and organisations to have their say on new draft Clean Energy Principles designed to maximise the benefits of energy developments across the area.
The draft principles bring together and update the council's existing guidance on community benefits from onshore renewables and its Renewable Energy Action Plan into a single framework. The document sets out how energy developers and the council can work together to support local priorities and create long-term benefits for communities.
The engagement exercise will run between 21 October - 20 November 2026 and further information can be found at www.argyll-bute.gov.uk/consultation/engagement-draft-clean-energy-principles including a copy of the draft document and the online response form.
The engagement is open to all but is particularly relevant to those organisations involved in delivering projects within the energy sector such as renewable energy developers, community energy operators and supply chain businesses as well as those dealing with community benefit funds including community organisations and community councils.
